Jessica Puerta

Jessica Puerta (ella/she/her) currently serves as the Associate Director of the Department of Student Involvement at Westchester Community College. As a second-generation immigrant and U.S citizen, Jessi is passionate about student development, asset-based approaches, and utilizing community and cultural wealth as a form of resistance and empowerment. As a product of SUNY, CUNY and public R1 university, Jessi believes in the high-quality of affordable public education, and the power of team leadership in building people, projects, and programs from an equitable, accessible and inclusive lens. Jessi received a Masters of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut, Bachelors of Arts in Television and Radio from CUNY Brooklyn College, and Applied Associates Degree in Communication and Media Arts and Associates Degree in Journalism from SUNY Westchester Community College.
