We are a grassroots effort, and therefore rely on the generous contributions of supporters like you! Below we identified three areas of need.
1. Emergency Fund
We are contacting families on an on-going basis to determine need. Undocumented individuals were left out of the stimulus package, and many work in industries without benefits or protections. We will distribute emergency funds to help with rent, groceries, healthcare, and utilities.
2. Program Costs
For the summer program alone we need to raise at least the following amount:
$9,000 for room and board for the 10 days in a college residence hall
$2,500 for counselor stipends
$1,500 for transportation costs, especially heading into NYC for college trips
$1,000 for the members' graduation ceremony
$500 for materials
Note: if we do not hold the summer program, we will hold programs at later dates and offer virtual sessions that will have their own associated costs.
3. Scholarship Fund
Many families are depleting savings at this time. The need is greater than ever to support our graduates' college pursuits.
